Homeway Homes Receives More Recognition
While many companies are scaling back, Homeway Homes is forging ahead of the competition. This regional business is an internationally recognized home builder and Friday, the company was the chosen location for a political stop by a gubernatorial candidate. The candidate chose Homeway Homes' location because this company is a shining example of success.
This family owned regional company just announced it is hiring new employees and was awarded 2nd place in the International Solar Decathlon in the fall for building its ‘Green' home. Germany earned 1st place and California earned 3rd place.
Vickie Clark, EDC COO, says "Homeway Homes is truly a gem for our region. During the recessionary period, the company continues to grow; in fact it is looking to hire 30 new employees. At a time when many companies are scaling back, Homeway Homes continues to move ahead. This company is a success story that needs to be shared."
The EDC assisted Homeway Homes throughout its site location search and evaluation for the new manufacturing plant. The assistance included coordination of meetings with stakeholders, business resource partners, and facilitation of incentive programs. The EDC worked with Homeway Homes and Morton Community Bank to include low interest financing through IL Business Financial Resources (IBFS) SBA 504 Loan Program and the Tazewell County Revolving Loan Fund. The $5 million dollar development project generated 65 new jobs. As Homeway Homes continued to grow, they established two new sales center in Springfield and Galesburg in 2008. Competitive funding was secured through Goodfield State Bank and IBFS SBA 504 program.
